1x Authentic IA2 Military Bayonet – Brazilian Army Combat Fixed Blade

Market research by IMBEL (Brazilian arms industry) in 2008 identified the demand of the Brazilian Armed Forces for a knife with military requirements, an important tool for soldiers in the field. It was found that the knives used by Brazilian soldiers were imported copies or civilian models adapted to military designs.

The IA2 and AMZ Field Knives originated from the Bayont Knives that were developed for the new IA2, designed to meet the severe conditions of military use.

The operational requirements were obtained from research conducted with end users of the Special Operations Brigade, the Paratrooper Brigade and jungle warriors.

The design followed the lines of the IA2, with straighter lines, with the same colors as the new IA2 and with careful ergonomics.

The IA2 model (IMBEL, model A2) has balanced dimensions for multipurpose use, suggested for combat support troops, logistics, armored vehicle crews, PE units, guards and police forces.

The IA2 and AMZ field knives are corrosion-resistant and allow for both impact strikes and precise cuts. The type of steel and heat treatment were designed to balance flexibility in torsion with the hardness to stop the edge and, if necessary, recover it in the field.

The eagle’s beak-shaped handle pommel, in addition to helping to keep the knife in the soldier’s hand, allows it to be used for hammering. The handle was designed to resist drying out and is highly resistant to impacts or abrasion.

The sheaths characterize the IA2 and AMZ knives as field work tools. The sheaths are moisture-resistant, robust, lightweight and have essential features for preserving the field knife: a strong internal spring reduces noise when moving and its structure allows water to drain through the lace hole. The laces are the same as those used in parachutes.
