Jungle Warriors are specialized military personnel capable of surviving and fighting using the jungle, their faithful and inseparable ally. They are professionals who are part of motivated warrior factions that silently glide through the labyrinths of the mysterious forest. They are inspired by the jaguar, an animal that symbolizes jungle warfare, to fight, because they know how to surround, disturb and ambush the enemy with ease, they act by surprise and always believe in victory.
The first CIGS badge was, like everything else at the beginning of the Center, innovative. It was silver in color because the officer and enlisted courses were identical. A legacy of the paratroopers.

The pattern was the same as that adopted for the Army courses. Horizontal oak leaves, with a Portuguese shield in the center. The shield had the novelty of being openwork and having, inside it, a feline, the jaguar, facing forward and with its mouth open ready to attack. The reason for the hollowing out was to have the green color of the old uniform as a background, representing the Amazon rainforest. The ensemble was topped by a five-pointed star.
As of 1971, as the courses were operating with differentiated curricula – Category A for Senior Officers, B for Captains and Lieutenants and C for Sub-Lieutenants and Sergeants – it was established that the badges would be gold for officers and silver for enlisted men. With the new Army Uniform Regulations (RUE) approved in 2014, the badge became gold for all COS categories.
